If you live to the age of 80, your odds of being struck by lightning once, are roughly 1 in 12,000. The odds of being struck twice?
Now you’re looking at about 1 in 9 million!
However, when it comes to Roy Cleveland Sullivan – these odds didn’t apply!
You’ve likely never heard of Mr. Sullivan, but his story is remarkable!
Sullivan served as a US Park Ranger at Shenandoah National Park, in Virginia.
From 1942 to 1977, Roy was struck by lightning – a whopping 7 different times.
And, improbable as it was, he lived to tell each tale!
Sadly, while managing to survive 7 bolts of lightning, he met his demise by virtue of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Nothing really.
That said, if you’re a General Manager in the 3PL / Logistics space in Belleville – you may have just caught lightning in a bottle!
Janna French is looking for a GM with leadership experience to run a Distribution Center in Belleville.
POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER INDUSTRY: 3PL / LOGISTICS LOCATION: BELLEVILLE, ONTARIO
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage all aspects of the Distribution Center including, facilities + employee staffing + employee reviews
· Responsible for all financial information including weekly flash reports, budgeting + P&L statements
· Manage a warehouse of approximately 100,000 – 200,000 sq. ft. – containing hazardous materials
· Ensure accounts receive full, requested productivity + quality levels
REQUIREMENTS:
· 7+ years overall experience – at a leadership level
· Experience managing a 100,000+ sq. ft. hazardous materials warehouse / DC with revenues of $1MM+ – comprised of multiple clients
· Experience managing distribution, storage + handling of hazardous materials per WHMIS & ISO regulations
· Skilled in risk assessment & analysis of potential hazards
· Proficient in T-Logic or similar warehouse operating system + MS Office Suite
· Experience with (Maves, Manhattan, Red Prairie, Foresite) Warehouse Management Systems (preferred)
· MUST HAVE: Kronos + labour management experience
· Working knowledge of warehouse + mechanical equipment
· Working knowledge of OHSA, DOT, WHMIS, RDC, IWLA, regulations / standards and willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas, as deemed necessary
· Excellent supervisory + customer service + mathematical & analytical skill sets
· Dangerous Goods certification (IATA)
· NFPA training + membership to understand fire codes for proper storage
· Transportation of Dangerous Good Certification + understanding of Dangerous Goods segregation table
· Ability to be “on-call” at all times for alarm system or problems – during off work hours
· Ability to work irregular or extended hours, when necessary
REMUNERATION:
SALARY: $105,000 – $120,000 MBO: 15%
ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $120,750 – $138,000
