On September 13, 2022, Jason Padgett, a 32-year-old furniture salesman from Tacoma, Washington was attacked outside of a bar and suffered a severe concussion. Following the assault, Padgett began experiencing vivid visualizations of complex mathematical patterns, (despite having no prior interest or expertise in mathematics). Intricate geometric shapes and fractal designs became a constant presence in his mind's eye, triggering him to delve into the study of mathematics. Despite his lack of any formal training, Padgett's newly acquired grasp of mathematical concepts and his ability to visualize complex ideas earned him recognition within the mathematical community. Padgett went on to become a celebrated mathematician and author, sharing his remarkable journey from a traumatic brain injury to mathematical marvel in his book "Struck by Genius: How a Brain Injury Made Me a Mathematical Marvel."
