THE POISON WIDOW ($140,000 – $190,000+)

In 1895, Tillie Gburek joined hands in matrimony with John Mitkiewicz. 19 years later, John succumbed to an apparent heart condition, leaving Tillie a widow. Little did anyone know; this marked only the beginning of a macabre series of events.

Tillie's subsequent union with Joseph Ruskowski ended in tragedy, as did her relationship with her next beau. However, it was her third marriage, to Frank Kupczyk, that sent shivers down the spine of anyone who crossed paths with Tillie. Mornings began with Tillie ominously whispering to Frank, "It won’t be long now. You'll be dying soon." Her behaviour grew more sinister as Frank's health declined; she took to knitting herself a mourning hat and even procured a bargain coffin, stashing it away in their basement.

After Kupczyk's demise, Tillie wasted no time in marrying for a fourth time, but this time suspicion hung heavily in the air. Frank Klimek, her latest husband, fell gravely ill, prompting doctors to investigate further. Their suspicions were confirmed when lab tests revealed lethal doses of arsenic in his system.

In a chilling turn of events, as Tillie faced arrest, she brazenly remarked to the police officer, "The next one I want to cook a dinner for is you."

The bodies of all of Tillie’s past victims were exhumed and each was found to contain lethal doses of arsenic.

Tillie’s “weapon of choice” had been a rat poison called – Rough On Rats!

Following her arrest, it was discovered that; 20 people had fallen ill after dining at Tillie’s table (14 of whom had died) and Tillie, newly nicknamed, “The Poison Widow” had life insurance policies on all of her husbands!

On the bright side, after 3 months in the hospital, Joseph Klimek actually survived!

Thus ended the dark chapter of Tillie Gburek, a woman whose culinary skills masked her sinister intentions, leaving a trail of tragedy and suspicion in her wake. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
