In August 2019, a man in Ashland, Oregon made a life-changing decision. He sold his RV $23,000 in cash. He stuffed the money into an old shoebox and hid it in the back of his closet, for safe keeping.
But then, the unthinkable happened.
The next recycling day, in a distracted haze, he tossed a few boxes - one of them containing his entire fortune - out with the trash. Hours later, panic set in as the realization hit: the money was gone! With no time to lose, he bolted outside, but it was too late. The garbage collectors had already come and gone.
Frantically, he dialed the recycling company, only to learn the truck had already made its way five hours south. Workers at the sorting facility were notified and asked to keep an eye out for a plain shoebox.
Hours passed.
Then, after what felt like an eternity, the shoebox was found. Incredibly, only $320 had blown away in the wind. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Nothing really.
