Robert Liston was born in Scotland in 1794 and came to be a highly respected amputation surgeon. Back then, anesthesia wasn’t widely used, so faster surgeries meant less pain and better odds.

As the story goes, one day, Dr. Liston was scheduled to amputate a patient’s leg. An elderly doctor was on hand to observe Liston’s celebrated technique.

  The operation began with no issues but, as Liston was changing instruments, he accidentally slashed the elderly doctor’s coat. Believing he’d been stabbed, the elderly doctor suffered a heart attack – and died.

Obliged to handle the task at hand, Liston turned back towards his patient to resume his duties. Regrettably, his assistant’s hand was in the wrong place and Liston accidentally sliced off four fingers!

The patient’s leg later developed gangrene … as did the assistant’s hand. Both died.

In a matter of 150 seconds, Robert Liston is said to have performed the only surgery in history with a 300% mortality rate. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Absolutely nothing. That said, while we’ve got your attention … Iva Frankovic is looking for an experienced Distribution Manager to take full ownership of a newly launched 150,000 sq. ft. food-grade distribution center in Bolton. This site supports multiple customer accounts within a fast-paced 3PL environment.

This role is responsible for the overall performance of the building, including staffing, workflow prioritization, service levels and day-to-day execution. The manager oversees supervisors, lead hands and operators across day, afternoon and weekend shifts, ensuring operational consistency and strong customer delivery.

The position reports into senior operations leadership and requires someone who is comfortable owning the entire site, managing competing priorities and leading from the floor when needed. | POSITION:    DISTRIBUTION MANAGER LOCATION:   BOLTON, ONTARIO

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Own day-to-day operations of a 150,000 sq. ft. distribution center

·         Oversee a team of 20 to 30 employees across day, afternoon, and weekend shifts

·         Manage supervisors, lead hands, and warehouse operators across multiple customer accounts

·         Prioritize workflow across different SLAs and customer requirements

·         Ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time

·         Monitor productivity, staffing levels, and operational efficiency

·         Maintain food-grade warehouse standards and support audit readiness (AIB, compliance, etc.)

·         Resolve operational issues quickly and maintain service levels

·         Support team members and step into operations when needed

·         Work closely with leadership on performance and continuous improvement

·         Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment

·         Drive accountability across the full site operation

REQUIREMENTS

·         Experience managing a warehouse or distribution center operation

·         Experience supporting multiple customers/accounts within a 3PL environment preferred

·         Strong ability to prioritize competing demands and service requirements

·         Leadership experience managing supervisors and warehouse teams

·         Strong operational mindset with attention to detail and follow-through

·         Comfortable in a hands-on leadership role

·         Experience in food-grade warehousing is an asset

·         Exposure to audits or compliance standards (AIB, Health Canada, etc.) is beneficial

·         Stable career progression with demonstrated ownership of operation

·         Experience with warehouse management systems such as HighJump WMS is an asset

REMUNERATION

SALARY: $95,000 – $110,000
