In 1971, a gang of thieves in London executed what looked like a perfect heist. Anthony Gavin, the mastermind, along with Thomas Stephens, Reginald Tucker, and Benjamin Wolfe, rented a leather goods shop called Le Sac two doors down from the Lloyds Bank on Baker Street. Over several months, they tunneled forty feet beneath a neighbouring restaurant straight into the bank’s vault. Using hydraulic jacks, thermal lances, and careful planning, they bypassed alarms and emptied hundreds of safety deposit boxes, walking away with millions in cash and valuables.
Everything seemed flawless … until it didn’t.
Wolfe had signed the shop lease in his real name, leaving a paper trail, and a radio hobbyist overheard their walkie-talkie conversations. The police traced the gang, arrested the members, and recovered only part of the loot.
A near-perfect, movie-style heist had been undone not by skill or luck, but by human error and coincidence.
What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

That said, while we have your attention, Jeanne Agius is looking for a General Manager for her client – headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario.
GENERAL MANAGER (MISSISSAUGA)
THE GIG (IN 9 LINES OR LESS):
Take full P&L ownership of a long-established industrial distribution business.
Lead a tenured team serving OEMs, manufacturers, and fabricators across the GTA.
Drive growth through modernized systems, process improvements, and sales execution.
Build a repeatable, scalable sales engine with clear metrics and performance management.
Align operations, warehouse, and sales teams around shared goals.
Modernize CRM, KPIs, and automation to increase efficiency and insight.
Ensure service reliability while scaling the business.
Lead cultural evolution focused on accountability, execution, and continuous improvement.
High autonomy + direct impact on company growth.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Proven leadership in B2B/industrial environments (distribution, manufacturing, or technical products).
Hands-on experience driving profitable growth across sales, operations, and people.
Experience building or scaling sales teams and pipelines.
Systems- and data-driven mindset; comfortable implementing CRM discipline, KPIs, and operating rhythms.
Track record of leading change in established organizations while maintaining trust.
Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and executive presence.
Comfortable with full P&L accountability or ready to step into that responsibility.
COMPENSATION:
BASE SALARY: $120,000 – $175,000
ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $150,000 – $250,000
OTHER: Car allowance + gas card + 407 + benefits + 4 weeks’ vacation
