In September of 2023, a Jetstar flight bound from Perth, Australia was forced to perform an emergency landing due to the actions of an unruly passenger. The man, who had been drinking and acting disruptively, ignored safety instructions and created such chaos that the captain decided to return the plane to the Perth airport.

To ensure the flight’s safe landing, the crew was forced to dump a significant amount of fuel.

When the flight touched down, the man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. To avoid prison time, he accepted responsibility and plead guilty.

Yet, his troubles didn’t end there. On top of an $8,000 fine for his behavior, the court ordered him to pay an additional $5,500 to cover the cost of the wasted fuel that had been dumped mid-flight. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

Well, nothing really.

That said, now that we have your attention, Mate Pavkovic is looking for a Real Estate Lawyer for his client’s firm in Ottawa.

POSITION:    REAL ESTATE LAWYER INDUSTRY:   LEGAL

LOCATION:   OTTAWA, ONTARIO RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Advise clients on a wide range of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and refinancing.

·         Independently review title searches, financing packages, and other transaction documents.

·         Draft, review, and negotiate longform Agreements of Purchase and Sale.

·         Assist with condominium declarations and land development matters, including land titles absolute applications.

·         Manage files with minimal supervision while collaborating with colleagues and clients.

·         Provide practical legal advice with a focus on excellent client service.

REQUIREMENTS:

·         5+ years’ experience practicing real estate law in Ontario (other levels of experience will be considered).

·         Strong technical skills with the ability to manage complex transactions.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·         Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

REMUNERATION:

SALARY RANGE: $120,000 – $150,000
