In 1871, a printer in New York named Albert L. Jones patented something that looked almost trivial. He took paper and pressed it into a series of ridges and grooves. That simple design created what we now call corrugated cardboard.
At first, it was used as protective wrapping for glass bottles and fragile items. But manufacturers quickly realized something: when you added flat linerboard to both sides, the material became incredibly strong and lightweight.
Corrugated boxes soon replaced heavy wooden crates across industries.
Today, nearly every product shipped around the world touches corrugated packaging at some point.
But the material itself isn’t what keeps those supply chains moving.
It’s the machines and operators that turn flat sheets into finished boxes with precision, speed, and consistency!
