CACTUS KARMA ($150,000 – $170,000+)

The saguaro cactus is found almost exclusively in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and northern Mexico. These iconic giants can live for more than 150 years and grow over 40 feet tall.


Because of their rarity and significance, saguaros are protected by law. Destroying one can result in criminal penalties.


In 1982, 27-year-old David Grundman decided those laws didn't apply to him.


Armed with a shotgun, he headed into the Arizona desert and began firing at the towering cacti. After knocking over a small saguaro, he turned his attention to a much larger specimen - a 26-foot giant believed to be over a century old.


Standing just 10 feet away, Grundman blasted several large holes into its trunk.


What he didn't realize was that one of the cactus's massive arms, weighing hundreds of pounds, had been severed.


Moments later, the 4-foot limb crashed down on him, pinning him to the ground and impaling him with its long, needle-like spines!


The century-old cactus survived.

Grundman did not.

That said, while you’re here … Iva Frankovic is looking for a Business Development Director to drive the growth of our client’s Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage division.

 

This is a hunter role focused on generating ‘net new’ business, building strategic customer relationships, and expanding market share across North America. You will play a key role in growing an important area of the business while working alongside an established transportation, warehousing, and logistics operation.

 

This is an opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys building business, opening new doors, and creating opportunities rather than managing an inherited book of accounts. POSITION:    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR LOCATION:   MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·       Generate ‘net new’ Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage business

·       Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities

·       Prospect through phone, email, networking, referrals, and in-person meetings

·       Develop relationships with decision-makers responsible for transportation, logistics, imports, exports, and supply chain operations

·       Lead the sales process from initial outreach through proposal, negotiation, and close

·       Partner closely with operations teams to ensure successful onboarding and execution

·       Identify opportunities to introduce additional service offerings where appropriate

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

·       5+ years of Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, or International Logistics sales experience

·       Proven track record of generating new business and winning new customers

·       Strong understanding of international transportation, imports, exports, customs processes, and supply chain solutions

·       Experience selling consultative logistics solutions

·       Comfortable prospecting, cold calling, networking, and developing new business opportunities

·       Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

 

REMUNERATION

 

SALARY RANGE: $100,000 – $120,000 ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $50,000 (uncapped) ON-TARGET EARNNGS (YEAR 1): $150,000 – $170,000 OTHER: benefits + vacation + car allowance + cell allowance WHAT NOW?
