In October 1918, 194 American soldiers were trapped behind enemy lines in the Argonne Forest during World War I. Surrounded, low on food, and under fire, their only hope was a message – and the messenger was a small carrier pigeon named Cher Ami.

Attached to her leg was the note:

“We are along the road parallel 276.4. Our own artillery is dropping a barrage directly on us. For heaven’s sake, stop it.”

Despite being shot through the chest and losing a leg, Cher Ami flew across enemy lines and delivered the message. The result? All 194 soldiers were rescued.

After the war, Cher Ami was awarded the French Croix de Guerre and later preserved at the Smithsonian – a tiny hero whose courage saved lives. What does that have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Absolutely nothing. That said, Woody is looking for an experienced Operations Manager in the Vancouver area. Our client is an industry-leading commercial janitorial company delivering consistent, superior service through sustainable practices and innovative solutions for nearly 50 years! Reporting to the Director, the Operations Manager will oversee janitorial operations for a portfolio of contract sites. This position requires significant autonomy. You'll manage budgets, quality standards, client relationships, and team compliance independently while solving problems as they emerge POSITION:    OPERATIONS MANAGER LOCATION:   VANCOUVER

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Manage cleaning operations across multiple sites to quality standards

·         Serve as primary liaison between property management, tenants, and on-site teams

·         Prepare and manage operating budgets for each location

·         Process all invoicing and billing through proprietary systems

·         Ensure site supervisors comply with company and building policies

·         Conduct performance reviews and client meetings

·         Perform site inspections and troubleshoot service issues

·         Ensure contract compliance and KPI achievement

·         Respond to emergency situations

REQUIREMENTS

·         5+ years management experience in cleaning, facilities, or service industries

·         Proven ability to lead, develop, and hold teams accountable

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Experience managing union and non-union workforces

·         Working knowledge of commercial cleaning operations, products, and equipment

·         Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe

·         Fluent English (additional languages an asset)

REMUNERATION

SALARY: $100,000 – $115,000
