160 kilometers north of Rio de Janeiro, you can find the maximum-security prison named – Arisvaldo de Campos Pires. In 2009, Raquel Guimaraes (a fashion designer) was having difficulty finding people to crochet and knit her hand-made designs.
She approached the prison’s officials with an interesting proposal; she asked that she be allowed to train 18 prisoners (convicted of crimes including robbery and murder) how to crochet and knit for her clothing line.
The program, named the “Lotus Flower” allows prisoners to earn a wage and master a new skill.
And not only do prisoners earn 75% of the minimum wage, but they actually have one day deducted from their sentence, for every three days worked! What does that have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Nothing. That said, while you’re here … Woody & Jeanne are looking for an experienced IT Manager in the Toronto area. Our client is an industry-leading commercial janitorial company delivering consistent, superior service through sustainable practices and innovative solutions for nearly 50 years! This role is for a hands-on IT Manager who will oversee daily IT operations and long-term planning across offices and field sites. Responsibilities include managing infrastructure, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, mobile devices, vendors and external IT providers. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, technically strong and comfortable balancing leadership with direct problem-solving and user support. POSITION: IT MANAGER LOCATION: TORONTO
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee day-to-day IT operations across head office and distributed worksites.
· Lead and support a small IT team, including Help Desk and IT Administration support.
· Manage Microsoft 365, including users, licensing, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and security policies.
· Support infrastructure, including servers, workstations, switches, firewalls, access points, IP telephony, backups and network monitoring.
· Act as the main point of contact for third-party managed IT providers and specialist contractors.
· Manage vendor relationships, service levels, escalations, renewals, contracts, and ongoing performance.
· Support core business systems, including operational platforms, asset tracking, ticketing, remote support tools and time-clock devices.
· Oversee cybersecurity practices, including endpoint protection, VPN access, firewall rules, patch management, vulnerability scanning and incident response.
· Manage onboarding and offboarding across systems and devices.
· Review ticket trends, recurring issues, vendor performance, mobile usage, internet usage, and IT spend.
· Support field technology, including mobile devices, laptops, printers, connectivity, time and attendance devices and remote troubleshooting.
· Maintain and improve IT policies, procedures, documentation, and best practices.
· Help build the IT roadmap, identify priorities, and align technology decisions with business needs.
REQUIREMENTS
· 5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or a related IT leadership role.
· 3+ years of experience supervising or leading IT staff.
· Experience managing third-party IT providers, MSPs, vendors, or co-managed IT arrangements.
· Strong Microsoft 365 experience.
· Hands-on experience with servers, networks, backups, firewalls, VPN, endpoint protection and cybersecurity.
· Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and SQL Server.
· Experience supporting hybrid environments, including on-premises servers and cloud-based platforms.
· Strong troubleshooting skills across laptops, mobile devices, printers, phones, connectivity and business systems.
· Strong vendor management, contract management, and budget awareness.
· Able to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
· Comfortable in a hands-on IT environment where structure, follow-through and responsiveness matter.
· Experience supporting a multi-site or field-based workforce is an asset.
· Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or VMware VCP are considered an asset.
REMUNERATION
SALARY: $100,000 – $120,000
