Long before the advent of the internet, television, and radio, newspapers were the primary source of information for most people. The familiar phrase "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" has its origins in this era, though many may not know its backstory. Newspapers were published daily, with a strict deadline to send them to print. However, the world doesn't adhere to such schedules. Major events, like the death of a President or the announcement of a war, often occurred after the regular deadline had passed.
In these instances, newspapers would issue an extra edition to cover the breaking news. Paperboys would then shout "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" on street corners to generate excitement and boost sales!
