In 1898, author Morgan Robertson published a novel called “Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan”. It told the story of a massive, luxury ocean liner named the Titan – billed as “unsinkable”, that strikes an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sinks due to a shortage of lifeboats.
Sound familiar?
Fourteen years later, in 1912, the Titanic, a massive, “unsinkable” ship, hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank. And yes, it also lacked enough lifeboats.
The similarities between Robertson’s fictional Titan and the real-life Titanic are eerily specific. Same type of ship. Same route. Same month. Same cause. Same outcome. 14 years before it happened!
