Perpetual stew, sometimes called forever soup, is a cooking method where a pot of stew is kept simmering continuously for extraordinarily long periods, with fresh ingredients and liquid continually added.

The existing broth becomes the foundation for the next batch, creating an increasingly rich and complex flavour. The key to keeping it safe is temperature: when maintained above approximately 60°C, continuous heat inhibits the growth of many harmful bacteria.

And believe it or not, this tradition is still alive today.

In Bangkok, Thailand, Wattana Panich has maintained its famous beef broth continuously since 1974.

That's more than 50 years of the same pot of broth!

Fresh beef, herbs, spices and other ingredients are continually added while the existing broth is retained and replenished. The result is an intensely flavoured broth that has been maintained by three generations of the same family.

Fifty-two years. One pot. And apparently, one hell of a stew. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

Well, nothing really.

That said, now that we have your attention, Mate Pavkovic is looking for an Insurance Defense Lawyer. Our client, a respected Hamilton law firm with 25+ lawyers, is known for fearless advocacy, fairness, and a culture of mentorship and community. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload and work closely with experienced counsel on a variety of insurance defense matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to grow their practice within a well-established firm with a strong presence in the Hamilton legal community.

POSITION:    INSURANCE DEFENSE LAWYER

LOCATION:   HAMILTON, ONTARIO RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.

·       Manage files, ensuring all deadlines, procedural requirements, and litigation milestones are met.

·       Conduct examinations for discovery and prepare for all stages of the litigation process.

·       Represent clients at mediations, pre-trial conferences, motions, and other litigation proceedings.

·       Manage LAT case conferences and hearings as required.

·       Develop litigation strategies and provide sound, practical legal advice to clients.

·       Collaborate with experienced counsel on complex insurance defense matters.

·       Draft pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and other litigation materials.

·       Maintain professional relationships with clients, opposing counsel, insurers, and other professionals.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       2 to 4 years of experience practicing insurance defense.

·       Ability to independently manage a caseload.

·       Experience conducting examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trial conferences, and motions.

·       Experience with LAT case conferences and/or hearings.

·       Small Claims Court experience is considered an asset.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

·       Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

·       Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

REMUNERATION:

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 – $100,000 (based on year of call)
