Deep in the fiery, cramped boiler rooms of massive ocean liners, where the heat was unbearable and escape nearly impossible, worked Arthur John Priest – a stoker whose life would become the stuff of legend. A stoker’s job was brutal: shoveling coal into roaring boilers to keep the ship moving, risking everything just to keep the engines alive.Over his career, he faced disaster after disaster – and survived! In 1911, he was on the RMS Olympic when it slammed into another vessel, yet the ship stayed afloat. In 1912, he was trapped deep inside the Titanic when it struck an iceberg and began to sink, somehow making it out alive. The horrors didn’t end there. During World War I, he survived the torpedoing of HMS Alcantara and later the sinking of the Britannic – Titanic’s very own sister ship – narrowly escaping death as lifeboats were dragged into the churning propellers. His final miracle came aboard the SS Donegal, where yet again, a torpedo attack failed to claim his life.

Mate Pavkovic is looking for an Estate Litigation Lawyer. SUMMARY: Our client, a well-established full-service litigation firm with 30+ years of experience in downtown Vancouver, is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join their expanding Estate Litigation practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation lawyer who values high-caliber advocacy, a collaborative environment, and meaningful client work. A portable practice or partial book of business is considered an asset.

POSITION:    ESTATE LITIGATION LAWYER LOCATION:   VANCOUVER INDUSTRY:   LEGAL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Conduct legal research, analysis, and draft pleadings, motions, and related court documents

·         Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with colleagues and clients

·         Represent clients in estate litigation matters, including court appearances and negotiations

·         Provide clear, thoughtful legal advice and maintain excellent client service standards

·         Manage files independently from inception to resolution

·         Contribute to the firm’s reputation and continued growth through professionalism and teamwork

REQUIREMENTS:

·         JD or LLB from an accredited law school

·         Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia

·         4+ years of litigation experience, preferably with exposure to estate matters

·         Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

·         Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently

REMUNERATION:

SALARY RANGE: $110,000 – $160,000 + benefits + opportunities for advancement
