NUNCHUKS ($225,000 – $262,500)

I was twelve, it was a lazy Saturday, and I had just watched Bruce Lee take out twenty guys with a pair of nunchuks in Fists of Fury. By the time the credits were rolling, my purpose in life had officially changed. I asked my parents to buy me a set, and they shut it down without hesitation.
So, the following weekend, once they left for the evening, I took matters into my own hands … sawing the handle off a broom and connecting a chain I'd ripped from my sister's old purse. My nunchuks were ugly and lopsided, but I figured they’d still do the trick.
I was smart enough to train indoors so the neighbors wouldn't rat me out, but not smart enough to do it anywhere other than four feet from my mother's china cabinet. I started slow, then got cocky fast, fully convinced I was one practice session away from a stunt double career.
Then I whipped one over my shoulder.
Ping!
A half-second later came the sound of shattered glass. I turned around to find a single homemade nunchuk resting peacefully inside my mother's china cabinet.
I'll spare you the details of what happened when Mama Krpan got home that night. Just know my assassin career ended before it ever really began. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Nothing!
POSITION: REGIONAL DIRECTOR – WESTERN CANADA INDUSTRY: COMMERCIAL TRUCK & FLEET TERRITORY: BRITISH COLUMBIA, ALBERTA, SASKATCHEWAN, MANITOBA This is a senior individual-contributor sales role — no direct reports. You're stepping into a territory with an already-strong base, and the job is to defend and expand that foundation while actively hunting new business.
Our client is a leading North American provider of specialized truck rental and fleet solutions, serving the waste, recycling, and environmental services sector — municipalities, independent operators, and large corporate fleets who need flexible access to specialized trucks without the capital burden of owning them.
Western Canada is a mature, high-performing region for the business, and this role is about sharpening that edge, not building from zero.
What you'll be doing:
§ Deepen relationships with an established base of municipal, independent, and corporate accounts
§ Grow share of wallet within existing customers — more rentals, more penetration, more utilization
§ Maintain and build dealer partnerships across the territory
§ Understand municipal purchasing processes and timelines well enough to navigate them
§ Hunt: prospect new markets and close new logos alongside account growth
§ Own the full cycle — prospecting through negotiation and close
§ Represent the business at industry events and with senior leadership
Who thrives here:
Someone who can walk into a municipality or a major waste operator and immediately read the room and establish credibility — protecting what's already working while still finding the angles others miss. You're equally comfortable nurturing a long-standing relationship and cold-opening a new one.
5+ years of B2B outside sales required, with a track record of growing accounts, not just landing them. Municipal sales experience is a requirement given how much of this territory's business runs through municipalities.
The territory: Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver home base (proximity to a major airport matters), 50% + overnight travel across the West.
REMUNERATION:
BASE SALARY RANGE: $150,000 – $175,000 ON-TARGET VARIABLE: 50% of base salary
ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $225,000 – $262,500 OTHER: benefits + rrsp + vacation + hybrid set-up + car allowance + fuel card
