POTATO, PIG, PANIC

In 1859, on San Juan Island – a small island in the Salish Sea between Washington State and Vancouver Island, an American farmer shot a pig eating his potatoes. Britain demanded $100 in compensation, the farmer offered $10, and neither side would budge. Tensions escalated quickly: U.S. troops arrived, British warships appeared, and cannons were aimed – all over a single pig!

No shots were fired, and remarkably, only the pig died. The standoff ended peacefully, but the official border dispute between the U.S. and Britain wasn’t resolved until 1872. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Nothing at all. That said, while we have your attention, Mate Pavkovic is looking for a Family Law Lawyer for our client – one of Western Canada’s largest full-service law firms. FAMILY LAW LAWYER (LANGLEY, BC) THE ROLE (IN 9 LINES OR LESS):

·         Work in tandem with a Partner handling a sophisticated family law practice.

·         Manage files involving high-net-worth individuals, including business + overseas assets.

·         Handle guardianship + parenting time matters with confidence.

·         Advise on child + spousal support issues.

·         Advocate for children’s rights (including serving as counsel).

·         Participate in appellate work, as needed.

·         Deliver exceptional client service while balancing multiple complex files.

·         Engage directly with clients and build lasting relationships.

·         Operate within a collaborative, supportive team culture.

WHAT YOU BRING:

·         3–5 years post-call, focused in family law.

·         Proven experience across the full spectrum of family matters.

·         Excellent judgment, communication, and client-facing abilities.

·         Detail-oriented and disciplined in file management.

·         A team-first mindset and commitment to professional excellence.
