On February 12, 2013, Thai couple, Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat attended an event organized by Ripley's Believe It or Not! – in Pattaya, Thailand. They stepped up to one another and kissed. But this wasn’t just any kiss. In fact, their lips did not part for the next 58 hours and 35 minutes as they achieved a new world record! Fittingly, it happened to coincide with Valentine’s Day! In July 2023, The Guinness World Records announced the elimination of the longest-kiss world record, due to safety concerns. Apparently, the competition had become too dangerous, and some of the new rules conflicted with their updated policies.

Due to the escalating length of the record to be broken and the absence of rest breaks, participants were increasingly vulnerable to the risks associated with sleep deprivation, including the development of psychosis.

But while you’re here, Woody’s is looking for a General Manager for a quick service restaurant brand in Toronto. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys running a busy restaurant but also likes the logistics and variety that comes with catering, events, and mobile food service.You will oversee two core parts of the business: Restaurant Operations – Running the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, strong team leadership, and consistent food quality. Mobile & Catering Events – Managing bookings, scheduling, staffing, and logistics for the company’s mobile food trailers that support festivals, corporate events, and private functions.

You’ll work closely with ownership and the finance team to ensure the operation runs efficiently while continuing to grow the catering and events side of the business. POSITION:    GENERAL MANAGER LOCATION:   TORONTO, ONTARIO

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Lead daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service, maintain food quality, speed of service, and brand standards

·         Manage staffing, scheduling, and shift leadership while delivering strong customer experiences and resolve guest concerns

·         Manage event bookings, quoting, and scheduling & coordinate drivers, trailers, and staffing for events

·         Ensure trailers are stocked and ready for each event

·         Monitor sales performance and revenue + control food and labour costs

·         Review bi-weekly financials and P&L performance with finance

·         Recruit, train, and coach restaurant and mobile staff

·         Develop shift leaders and maintain a positive team culture

·         Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations

·         Maintain operational standards across restaurant and mobile units

·         Support initiatives that drive restaurant traffic, delivery, catering, and events

REQUIREMENTS

·         Experience managing a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR)

·         Strong leadership and team management skills

·         Experience managing scheduling, labour costs, and food costs

·         Organized and comfortable coordinating logistics

·         Someone who enjoys a fast-paced, hands-on environment

REMUNERATION

SALARY: $60,000

PERFORMANCE BONUS: up 10% ($6,000)
