In the Chihuahuan Desert – one of the driest deserts on Earth lives a plant that seems to break the rules of biology – it’s called, the Resurrection Plant.

When the desert heat strips away every drop of moisture, this small fern curls into a tight brown ball and appears completely dead. But it isn’t. Inside, its cells are in a state called desiccation tolerance – a kind of biological pause button.

Most plants would crumble when their cells lose water, but this one creates special sugars (like trehalose) that protect its structure. They form a glass-like coating around its cells, keeping everything intact until rain finally returns.

When moisture touches it again (even a few drops) the plant instantly unfurls and turns green within hours, photosynthesis restarts, and life continues as if nothing happened! What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

Woody is searching for a Plant Manager (but the position has nothing to do with actual plants) – in Winnipeg for his food service client.

POSITION:      PLANT MANAGER INDUSTRY:     FOOD SERVICE LOCATION:    WINNIPEG RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Ensure all products are manufactured in compliance with GMP and food safety standards.

·         Partner with Quality Assurance to identify and resolve plant or departmental issues.

·         Oversee daily production activities to maintain food safety and quality standards.

·         Review and update work aids and documentation used for quality verification.

·         Manage day-to-day production process to meet output and efficiency goals.

·         Train, coach, and evaluate production staff to achieve performance targets.

·         Support and drive process improvement initiatives across production lines.

·         Review production and operations reports to resolve issues, control costs, and prevent downtime.

·         Work with supervisors on goal setting, problem solving, scheduling, and equipment performance.

·         Lead training and cross-training programs; conduct evaluations and disciplinary actions.

·         Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and engagement throughout the plant.

·         Assist with special projects and provide performance summaries and outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS:

·         Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and general plant safety practices and procedures.

·         Strong knowledge of business and management principles and practices.

·         Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

·         Highly self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision.

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills.

·         Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization.

·         Working knowledge of MS applications, and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.

REMUNERATION:

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 – $85,000 BONUS: 10% ($8,000 – $8,500) OTE: $88,000 – $93,500 OTHER: benefits + vacation + cellphone
