On October 30, 1974, in Kinshasa, Zaire, 60,000 spectators gathered to watch George Foreman (the undefeated world heavyweight champion) and Muhammad Ali (the former champion) square off against one another in what is widely considered the greatest sporting event of the 20th century.

The historic boxing event … dubbed “The Rumble in the Jungle” had Ali pegged as a 4-1 underdog.

Facing a physically superior competitor, Ali recognized he had little chance of victory if he tried to trade blows with Foreman. As such, he had a secret plan … and as the second round commenced, Ali put his never before seen ‘Rope-a-Dope’ plan into action.

Leaning back on the ropes and covering his head, Ali allowed Foreman to punch at his arms and his body. Weathering a storm of punches, Ali would deliver a flurry of strategic shots, once George had grown tired.

Foreman didn’t realize the amount of energy he was expending while landing largely ineffective strikes.

And as the 8th round was winding down, Ali delivered a final flurry of punches to an energy-depleted Foreman – sending the exhausted champion to the canvas! That said, while we have your attention, Woody is looking for an RFP & Proposal Specialist in Toronto.Our client is a Canadian-owned provider of commercial facility services supporting large office and institutional portfolios across multiple provinces.

Reporting to the Director of Proposals & Contracts, this individual will support national business development efforts by managing the RFP process from opportunity tracking through final submission. The role ensures proposals are organized, compliant, and submitted on time while coordinating inputs from internal teams and supporting sales pipeline activity and proposal materials. POSITION:    RFP & PROPOSAL SPECIALIST LOCATION:   TORONTO

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Manage the RFP and proposal submission process from opportunity identification through final submission

·         Monitor bid portals and track new opportunities

·         Coordinate inputs from operations, estimators, and regional teams across Canada

·         Compile, edit, and format proposal documents to ensure compliance with submission requirements

·         Maintain proposal templates, RFP library, and submission documentation

·         Track sales pipeline activity, proposal outcomes, and contract renewal timelines

·         Support sales teams with proposal materials, presentations, and collateral

·         Assist with marketing initiatives and corporate events during slower RFP cycles

REQUIREMENTS

·         Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications (or equivalent experience)

·         3+ years of experience coordinating RFPs or proposal submissions

·         Experience managing detailed submission guidelines and tight deadlines

·         Strong written communication and document preparation skills

·         Highly organized with strong attention to detail

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

REMUNERATION
