This is a rare chance to step into a senior finance leadership seat at a company with real scale and history, reporting directly to ownership, in a business where decisions get made fast and your work has visible impact.The successful candidate will lead the accounting and financial reporting function and own the day-to-day operations of the accounting department – including teams responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.

POSITION:      CONTROLLER LOCATION:    BRANTFORD RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, Payroll, and related staff)

·       Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

·       Own month-end and year-end close

·       Build and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures

·       Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis

·       Advise ownership and senior leadership on financial insights that drive business decisions and growth

·       Coordinate annual audits with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies

·       Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements

·       Oversee working capital, banking relationships, and treasury functions

·       Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies

·       Support capital investment decisions and strategic planning

·       Prepare reporting and presentations for ownership

REQUIREMENTS:

·       7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership responsibility

·       Full-cycle accounting and financial reporting experience

·       Strong command of Canadian accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls

·       Proven track record overseeing payroll, AP, AR, and general accounting functions

·       Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)

·       CPA designation (an asset)

·       Manufacturing, distribution, or multi-entity experience is an asset (not a requirement)

·       Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting software proficiency

·       Comfortable operating directly with ownership in a fast-moving, hands-on environment

REMUNERATION:

BASE SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $125,000 OTHER: health benefits + mileage + vacation + career growth opportunities
