If you asked 100 people who Stan Smith is, most wouldn’t know. But there’s a good chance a pair of his shoes are kicking around somewhere in their house.
Before his name ended up on one of the most recognizable sneakers in the world, Smith was just a kid trying to get close to tennis. He once applied to be a ball boy at the Davis Cup and was turned away because organizers thought he was too clumsy and uncoordinated.
He went on to win Wimbledon Championships and the US Open, and became a key part of eight Davis Cup-winning teams for the U.S.
Around that same time, Adidas put his name on a simple tennis shoe. The Adidas Stan Smith went on to become one of the best-selling sneakers ever, worn by millions of people with no idea who he is.
Not bad for someone who wasn’t considered good enough to pick up tennis balls!
What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role? Nothing really.
That said, while you’re here, Karolina Kulis is looking for a sales professional who shares Stan’s commitment to excellence as well as his ‘don’t quit’ attitude. Someone who is proficient at getting in front of decision makers and has a track record of successfully securing new business!
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP, Sales, the Account Executive will be responsible for securing new business, developing relationships and selling custom storage and space optimization solutions.
This is a full-cycle, consultative sales role where you identify problems, design solutions and close deals. This is not account management. It’s for someone who wants to build a territory and own the outcome.
POSITION: ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
REPORTS TO: VICE-PRESIDENT SALES TERRITORY: ATLANTIC CANADA RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Prospect and develop new business across Atlantic Canada
§ Build relationships with architects, designers, general contractors and end users
§ Identify customer needs and design tailored storage solutions
§ Create proposals, layouts, and presentations
§ Manage RFQs, tenders and project timelines
§ Own the full sales cycle from first contact to close
§ Build partnerships with dealers and industry contacts
§ Maintain pipeline and activity in CRM
REQUIREMENTS:
§ 3+ years’ full cycle, B2B sales experience in a business development role
§ Proven ability to hunt and win new business
§ Experience in solution-based or consultative selling
§ Comfortable working independently in a new territory
§ Strong communication, follow-through, and accountability
§ Comfortable in field-based environments (meetings, job sites, etc.)
§ NICE TO HAVE: Experience in construction, commercial interiors, furniture or project-based sales + exposure to architects, designers or GC-driven environments
REMUNERATION:
BASE SALARY: $65,000 – $75,000 ON-TARGET VARIABLE (YEAR 1): $25,000 (uncapped) ON-TARGET EARNINGS (YEAR 1): $90,000 – $100,000 ON-TARGET EARNINGS (YEAR 2): $150,000+ OTHER: benefits + car allowance + mileage + vacation + benefits
