On December 16, 1773, members of the Sons of Liberty (American Colonists) came together and disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians. As a united protest against Britain’s Tea Act (high taxation of tea), they boarded 3 trade ships and tossed 340 crates of tea into the Boston Harbor.

This event came to be known as – The Boston Tea Party.

In today's money, the value of the tea they dumped would be more than $1,700,000 USD and, it would have brewed more than 18 million cups of tea!

POSITION:    BUSINESS LAWYER INDUSTRY:   LEGAL

LOCATION:  VANCOUVER, BC RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Advise clients throughout their business lifecycle, from incorporation to restructuring to sale, including assisting in selecting the appropriate legal structure.

·       Draft, interpret, and negotiate various corporate agreements such as shareholder agreements and leases.

·       Support clients in M&A projects, including drafting agreements, overseeing due diligence, and coordinating stakeholders.

·       Conduct legal research, identifying risks, and providing strategic legal advice on corporate matters.

·       Integrate legal and business perspectives to offer effective counsel to clients.

·       Prepare legal documents like wills and trusts to ensure clients' wishes are carried out.

·       Collaborate with tax advisors on estate planning and meet with clients to document asset distribution preferences.

·       Guide clients through the probate process and assist executors with their duties.

·       Offer legal counsel to trustees and resolve conflicts among beneficiaries and stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       5+ years’ applicable experience.

·       General corporate + commercial law experience, with focus on private company law and M&As.

·       Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

·       Excellent judgement along with top-notch drafting and communication skills.

·       Confident at engaging and interacting with clients.

·       Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

REMUNERATION:
