THE COBRA EFFECT ($72,000 – $102,000)

In the late 1800s, Delhi had a serious cobra problem. Dangerous snakes were everywhere. The British colonial government offered a simple solution: they would pay a bounty for every dead cobra. Kill a snake, turn it in, and get paid. The city would be safer, and people would be rewarded for their efforts!

At first, it worked like a charm. Cobra skins arrived, and officials celebrated. But people noticed something clever: it was easier to breed cobras than hunt them. The bounty system was suddenly creating the very problem it was meant to solve!

When the government finally realized what was happening, they shut the program down. But then, the breeders released their snakes, and Delhi ended up with more cobras than ever.

  Exact numbers, payouts, and records are gone, but the lesson survives: incentives matter more than intent. Reward the wrong thing, and the solution can become the problem.

That said, while we have your attention, Woody is looking for a Sales Executive in the York Region. Our client provides data, insights, and analytics to help Canadian foodservice businesses understand their market, measure performance, and identify growth opportunities. The Sales Executive will prospect and close new food manufacturer clients. This role suits someone who enjoys consultative selling, is comfortable presenting to senior leaders, and likes turning data into actionable business strategy. They will build relationships, translate data insights into business decisions, and partner with the analytics team to deliver value. POSITION:    SALES EXECUTIVE LOCATION:   YORK REGION

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Sell foodservice market analytics to leading Canadian manufacturers.

·         Prospect and secure new clients while managing and growing existing accounts.

·         Present insights and strategic advice, partnering with analysts to help clients achieve marketing and sales objectives.

·         Build and expand relationships with senior executives to drive revenue and long-term growth.

·         Contribute to the development of new reporting and information services to deliver added value and open new market opportunities.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

·         Proven relationship builder with a track record of developing new business with senior executives.

·         Skilled in consultative selling and marketing analysis, able to translate data into actionable insights for business leaders.

·         2 to 3+ years’ experience in sales, account management, analytics, marketing, or strategic consulting.

·         Tech- and data-literate, with knowledge of databases and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

·         Strong communicator, detail-oriented, results-driven, and committed to excellence.

·         Business degree or equivalent; able to travel across Canada and the USA.

 

REMUNERATION

 

SALARY: $60,000 – $85,000

BONUS POTENTIAL: 20% ($12,000 – $17,000)

ON-TARGET EARNINGS: $72,000 – $102,000
