THE HAMMER ($110,000 – $160,000)

  In 1992, farmer Peter Whatling lost his hammer in a field near Hoxne, England. He asked his friend Eric Lawes, a retired gardener with a metal detector, to help find it. Lawes searched the field and then his detector beeped. He dug down and found Roman gold jewelry and silver objects. Archaeologists were called in and uncovered more than 15,000 Roman coins and hundreds of gold and silver artifacts, buried for nearly 1,600 years. The discovery became known as the Hoxne Hoard, one of Britain's greatest Roman treasure finds. The hoard was valued at £1.75 million.

Lawes received the finder’s reward and split it equally with Whatling, giving each man £875,000. And after all that – they also found the hammer! What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

Not much. That said, now that we have your attention, Mate Pavkovic is looking for an Insurance Litigation Lawyer for his client’s firm in “the Hammer”. SUMMARY: Our client, a respected Hamilton law firm with 25+ lawyers, is seeking a seasoned Insurance Litigation Lawyer. The firm is known for fearless advocacy, fairness, and a culture of mentorship and community. A moderate portable book of business would be a strong asset to complement their broad commercial client base.

POSITION:    INSURANCE LITIGATION LAWYER INDUSTRY:   LEGAL

LOCATION:   HAMILTON, ONTARIO RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Handle matters within the firm’s property insurance, coverage, fraud, and subrogation practices.

·       Manage client files from assignment through to trial.

·       Provide clear legal advice and strategic guidance to clients.

·       Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

·       Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       3+ years of post-call experience in insurance litigation.

·       Knowledge and experience in one or more of property insurance, coverage, fraud, or subrogation.

·       Strong academic background and excellent oral and written advocacy skills.

·       Solid organizational and time management skills.

·       High degree of professional and personal ethics, integrity, and responsibility.

·       Ability to thrive both in a team atmosphere and independently.

·       Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

REMUNERATION:

SALARY RANGE: $110,000 – $160,000
