Growing up as the child of Croatian immigrants, my life was filled with experiences that set me apart from other kids in my neighborhood. By the time I was 11, my parents expected my sisters and I to take on responsibilities typically reserved for adults. We wrote letters on their behalf, renewed insurance policies and called Sears to schedule repair services – among, many other duties. One advantage of growing up in our house was the exposure to words that weren’t exactly English (nor Croatian, for that matter). A perfect example was one of my father’s favourite expressions: “un-believe-it.”Whether the Leafs won or lost, he would shout “un-believe-it!” with equal fervor. We never knew if he actually meant to say “unbelievable,” “I don’t believe it,” or “I can’t believe it,”
Whatever the case, he used it a lot! What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?
Well, nothing really.
That said, when it comes to this Toronto-based role, my father would definitely have agreed it’s, ‘un-believe-it’!
POSITION: NATIONAL ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (HUNTER) REPORTS TO: SALES DIRECTOR INDUSTRY: ADVERTISING / MEDIA LOCATION: TORONTO
SUMMARY: In a word, our client’s business offering is quite simply … awesome! They’ve been in business for 25 years and entered the Canadian market more than a decade ago.
Their client base is a ‘who’s who’ of some of the largest companies in the world. The role involves calling on advertising agencies as well as targeting ‘client-direct’ business.
They’ve got their eyes set on significant growth and are looking for a senior business development professional to ‘make it rain’ in Toronto!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· As a hunter sales professional, responsible for driving new revenue via new client acquisition.
· Target advertising agencies to develop creative strategies for target clientele.
· Responsible for exceeding sales targets and budget goals while maximizing yield on all business platforms – Radio + TV + Digital.
· Generate client specific proposals and creative ideas.
· Build business relationships with ad agencies to retain key clients while continuing to target new accounts.
· Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to expand the company’s client base.
· Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
· Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
· Provide accurate and detailed sales forecasting.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 5+ years of senior sales experience.
· Experience selling into (and existing relationships with) advertising agencies in Toronto.
· 3 years of hunting experience – targeting and closing new logos.
· Driven. Not the type of person who waits for the Marketing Department to send them leads.
REMUNERATION:
SALARY RANGE (YEAR 1): $125,000 – $150,000
ON-TARGET VARIABLE: $50,000 (uncapped)
ON-TARGET EARNINGS (YEAR 1): $175,000 – $200,000+
