In the early 1800’s, there were two options for sending mail to California. The first option was via ship (taking months at sea to be delivered). The second option was considerably faster, only 25 days – via stagecoach!
In April 1860, three enterprising gentlemen recognized the need for a superior alternative. They called it – The Pony Express.
They organized a small army of horsemen and built a chain of 200 relief stations – spanning from Missouri to California. The horsemen would ride between relief stations … handing their mail bags off to a new courier, every 75-100 miles. This ingenious solution reduced average delivery times to a blazingly quick – 10 days!
Interestingly, to keep the loads on the horses as light as possible, they only hired men weighing between 100 and 125 pounds. (The same weight as a modern-day jockey). And, while the average age of a rider was 20 years old, it wasn’t uncommon for teenagers as young as 14 years old to be employed!
What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

That said, while you’re here, Woody is looking for a passionate and experienced leader to manage our client’s restaurants in the Quebec City area, driving customer satisfaction and operational excellence!
POSITION: CORPORATE GENERAL MANAGER INDUSTRY: RESTAURANTS LOCATION: QUEBEC CITY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Participate in opening and managing new stores.
· Help employees establish exceptional customer service.
· Ensure the presentation of safe food products to customers.
· Manage staff relations, including recruiting staff; evaluating performance; participating in growth and development; providing coaching and training of policies and procedures.
· Provide weekly reports of the store budget, daily inventory of stock
· increase sales to meet revenue targets; ensure that all labor costs are within budget.
· Maintain high company standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
· Seek opportunities for the restaurant to participate in community events.
· Maintain food product inventory levels deemed acceptable for sales volumes.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 5 years of experience in restaurant management, training or operations.
· Strong communication skills (oral and written) and computer skills.
· A valid driver's license is essential
· Conscientious and profitability-oriented approach.
· Multi-unit experience, ideally with a background in restaurant openings or training
· Willingness to work a 50-hour week, including evenings and weekends and holidays.
· Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management.
· Desire to constantly take on challenges to foster personal growth.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Fluent in English and French is an asset.
REMUNERATION:
