In early 1900s New York, a well-dressed man walked the streets offering newcomers a once-in-a-lifetime deal: full ownership of a prime city asset. He showed legal-looking documents, promised toll-collecting rights, and sealed the deal for prices ranging from $75 to $50,000 (up to $1.8 million (USD) in today’s money!

Excited buyers tried to take control of their new property … only to be stopped by police. Why? Because they’d just “bought” the Brooklyn Bridge!

The seller was George C. Parker, one of the boldest con men in American history. He sold the bridge multiple times, along with other landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and Madison Square Garden, using nothing but forged papers and smooth talk.

Parker was eventually caught and died in prison in 1936. But he remains a legend in the art of the con. What does this have to do with Match and Fable’s latest role?

That said, now that we have your attention, Mate Pavkovic is looking for a Commercial Litigation Lawyer for his client’s firm in Hamilton. SUMMARY: Our client, a respected Hamilton law firm with 25+ lawyers, is seeking a seasoned Commercial Litigation Lawyer. The firm is known for fearless advocacy, fairness, and a culture of mentorship and community. A moderate portable book of business would be a strong asset to complement their broad commercial client base.

POSITION:    COMMERCIAL LITIGATION LAWYER INDUSTRY:   LEGAL

LOCATION:   HAMILTON, ONTARIO RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Manage a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, shareholder disputes, and other business-related litigation.

·         Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to clients.

·         Draft pleadings, motions, factums, and other legal documents.

·         Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.

·         Collaborate with colleagues while also managing files independently.

·         Build and maintain strong client relationships.

REQUIREMENTS:

·         5+ years of commercial litigation experience.

·         A moderate portable book of business to complement existing work.

·         Strong oral and written advocacy skills.

·         Excellent academic background.

·         Strong organizational and time management skills.

·         High degree of professional & personal ethics, integrity, and responsibility.

·         Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

·         Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

REMUNERATION:

SALARY RANGE: $150,000 – $200,000
